Born in 1986, Louise Deltrieux studied at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and holds a PhD in Art Research.
Since 2011, she has been developing a practice at the crossroads of visual research and documentary cinema, exploring alternative ways of inhabiting the world by revealing the connections humans weave with the living realm. She observes these questions by exploring the fields of craftsmanship, ethology, eco-activism, collapse theories, gathering, symbiosis…
Her work unfolds around the notions of weaving and patchwork, aiming to make tangible an ecology of the medium where image and material intertwine into new narrative forms.
She has developed her work through several residencies in France and abroad (La Métive, Creuse; Leveld Kunstnartun, Norway; Sointula Art Shed, Canada). Her films have been presented in various institutions (Lieu Unique in Nantes, National Museum of Natural History, MAC Lyon, Palais de Tokyo), as well as in French and international festivals (Filmer le travail, FIDMarseille, Images Mouvementées, Oregon Coast Film Festival, Istanbul International Experimental Film Festival). Her previous film Patching Topias is available on-demand on Tënk.
